BSNL 4G services to hit 14 telecom cities, competition to Bharti Airtel, Vodafone

BSNL will soon be launching 4G services in 14 telecom circles. Previously, BSNL soft launched 4G services in Chandigarh. With its 20 MHz liberalized spectrum in 2,500 MHz band the Company is exploring the use of either the revenue sharing model or the capex model method for its 4G rollout.However, there are higher chances of using the revenue share model according to aBSNL official who cited that the company will not incur expenditure because the vendor will endure much of the investment required. Besides, the installation of the 4G base tower stations (BTS) will be done in the existing GSM sites.

The capex model is somewhat costly regarding procurement and integration cost.But what about the availability of the device ecosystem for 2,500 MHz band which the company says will enhance the roll out since it does not have licensing hurdles? Well, the justification of availability is that various reputable companies the likes of Apple, Motorola, Lenovo and Nokia are already availed a sufficient number of 4G handsets in the market.BSNL becomes the latest entrant in the 4G space whose active action was previously in the hands of top mobile operators the likes of Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular. The three are already giving services to various circles. And to intensify the already competitive market, word has it that Reliance Jio Infocomm also has plans to launch its 4G services soon.Nevertheless, BSNL has not revealed its timeline for the launch which seems practicable and commercially remunerative. The company has already paid out a whopping Rs 8,313.80 crore for 2,500 MHz spectrum in all its intended service areas. It is now in its final analysis of decision making before taking a final call on the rollout.But even with the immense consideration of using the revenue share model, BSNL says that the capex model could also be instigated but on an experimental basis and in select cities of one circle.

வங்கிக் கடன்களை வாங்கி ஏமாற்றியவர்கள் குறித்து இந்தியா ஸ்பெண்ட் இணைய தளம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரையில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளதாவது: இந்திய வங்கிகளில் கடன் பெற்றுவிட்டு திருப்பிச் செலுத்தாமல் ஏமாற்றியோர் எண்ணிக்கை கடந்த 13 ஆண்டுகளில் 9 மடங்காக அதிகரித்திருக்கிறது. அதாவது இந்த தொகையானது மத்திய அரசு வேளாண்துறைக்கு பட்ஜெட்டில் ஒதுக்கிய ரூ35,894 கோடியைவிட 1.5 மடங்கு அதிகமாகும். மொத்தம் ரூ 56,521 கோடி வங்கிகளின் வாரா கடனாக உள்ளது.வங்கிக் கடன்களை திருப்பி செலுத்தாததில் மும்பையை சேர்ந்த வின்சம் டைமண்ட்ஸ் அண்ட் ஜூவல்லரி நிறுவனம், போர்எவர் பிரீசியஸ் ஜூவல்லரி & டைமண்ட்ஸ் நிறுவனங்கள் முதலிடத்தில் இருக்கின்றன. இந்த 2 நிறுவனங்களும் இணைந்து மொத்தம் ரூ3,263 கோடி கடனை வங்கிகளுக்கு செலுத்த வேண்டியுள்ளது. இந்த நிறுவனங்களுக்கு அடுத்ததாக மத்திய பிரதேசத்தின் இந்தூரைச் சேர்ந்த ரியல் எஸ்டேட் டெவலப்பர் ஜூம் டெவலப்பர்ஸ் என்ற நிறுவனம் ரூ 1,647 கோடி; விஜய் மல்லையாவின் கிங் பிஷர் ஏர்லைன்ஸ் நிறுவனம் ரூ1,200 கோடி, மும்பையின் பீடா நாப்தால் நிறுவனம் ரூ951 கோடி,த்தரப்பிரதேச மாநிலம் கான்பூரை சேர்ந்த ராஜா டெக்ஸ்டைல்ஸ் ரூ694 கோடி வங்கிக் கடன்கள் பாக்கி வைத்துள்ளன.

BSNL Kerala circle registers Rs 486 crore profit in FY15

  BSNL's Kerala circle has registered a remarkable profit of Rs 486 crore in the financial year of 2014-15 though the central PSU is struggling at the national level, M S Rao, Chief General Manager of the circle, said. "The Kerala circle is performing very well and registers growth in all aspects including revenue and profit. The circle has registered a profit of Rs 486 crore during the financial year 2014-15," he told reporters during a press meet here today. The profit from the circle was Rs 411 crore and Rs 287 crore during 2013-14 and 2012-13 fiscals respectively, he said.

ராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம் கமுதி தாலுகாவில் சூரிய ஒளி மின்சாரம் தயாரிப்பதற்கான ஒப்பந்தம் ஒன்றை அதானி குழுமத்தினர் தமிழக அரசுடன் செய்து கொண்டுள்ளனர். இதனடிப்படையில், கமுதி தாலுகாவில் உள்ள சுமார் 5 ஆயிரம் ஏக்கர் பரப்பளவில் இத்திட்டம் துவக்கப்படும் என தமிழக அரசு அறிவித்து இதை தொடர்ந்து கடந்து சில மாதங்களாக அதற்கான பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.இந்நிலையில், இந்த திட்டத்திற்காக அதானி குழுமத்தினர் விளைநிலங்களை மோசடியாக பதிவு செய்து அபகரிப்பதாகவும், இறந்தவர்கள் பெயர்களிலும், உயிருடன் இருப்பவர்களை இறந்தவர்களாகவும் காட்டி விவசாய நிலங்களை மோசடியாக பதிவு செய்வதாகவும், இதற்கு அரசு அதிகாரிகளும் ஆதரவாக இருப்பதாகவும் குற்றசாட்டு எழுந்தது.கமுதி தாலுகாவிற்கு உட்பட்ட செங்கப்படை, தாதாகுளம், கீழமுடி மன்னார்கோட்டை, புதுக்கோட்டை போன்ற கிராமங்களில் உள்ள விவசாய நிலங்கள், பஞ்சமி நிலங்கள், அரசு புறம்போக்கு நிலங்கள், கண்மாய்கள், நீர்வரத்து வாய்க்காள்கள் என சுமார் 15 ஆயிரம் ஏக்கர் நிலத்தினை அதானி குழுமத்தினர் சுற்றி வளைத்திருப்பதாக கூறி தமிழ்நாடு விவசாயிகள் சங்கத்தினர் போராட்டங்கள் நடத்தி வருகின்றனர்.இதனிடையே செந்தனேந்தல் கிராமத்திற்கு குடிநீர் ஆதாரமாக இருந்து வரும் செட்டி ஊரணி, பேய் ஊரணி ஆகியவற்றை நேற்று மாலை அதானி குழும வேலையாட்கள் ஆக்கிரமித்து புல்டோசர் மூலம் சம படுத்த துவங்கியுள்ளனர். இதில் ஒரு ஊரணியில் முக்கால் பகுதி சமபடுத்தப்பட்ட நிலையில், அந்த கிராம மக்களுக்கு இது பற்றிய தகவல் தெரிந்துள்ளது. இதையடுத்து, அங்கு திரண்ட கிராம மக்கள் அதானி குழும ஆட்களால் ஆக்கிரமிக்கப்பட்ட ஊரணிக்கு சென்றனர். அங்கு வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருந்த வேலை ஆட்களை அடித்து உதைத்து அங்கிருந்து விரட்டி அடித்துள்ளனர்.

Can BSNL reboot itself?

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, or BSNL, after it got nearly decimated by private telecom operators in the business of voice calls, is leaving no stone unturned to get a piece of the action in the data business. As voice calls turn into a commodity, most telecom operators have started to focus on data, the next big thing.In a move that will ease its cash flows, the Cabinet has given an in-principle approval to BSNL's long pending proposal to hive off its towers into a new subsidiary. The idea, of course, is to sell a stake in the towers company to an investor and unlock value. It is expected to be valued at Rs 20,000 crore.Besides, an investment of about Rs 39,000 crore over the next five years has been lined up to expand its core network and to help it launch more services such as 4Gand Wi-Fi.To turn around the company, which is mandated to operate in the entire country except Delhi and Mumbai, won't be a simple matter, though. Cutthroat competition and constraints in its capacity expansion plan led BSNL to post a loss of Rs 1,823 crore in 2009-10 for the first time since its inception in 2000. The loss reached Rs 7,600 crore in 2013-14 and stood at Rs 7085 crore in 2014-15.

BSNL Chairman & Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava, who took over the reins of the ailing company earlier this year, has his task cut out. The huge loss does not bother Shrivastava - he hopes to take BSNL back to profits within the next three years.After taking over, Shrivastava had said that BSNL has been making losses mainly because of depreciation of assets and administrative costs, which account for 55 per cent of the revenues. However, the operational needs are being through internal cash accruals."With a topline of Rs 28,000 crore and debt of Rs 4,500 crore, the situation is not that bad. The first priority is to change the direction of the company in such a way that losses are reduced year after year and there is enough compensation on depreciating assets," Shrivastava had said.Will the recent initiatives help BSNL turn around? Or is the government throwing good money after bad? Is it headed the Air India way, where the government has sunk in thousands of crores but no signs of a swift turnaround are visible?An opportunity One thing is for sure, the tower business offers a good opportunity for BSNL to raise critical growth capital. It has 65,000 towers, most of them located in the interiors. As metros move towards 100 per cent tele-density, the action is bound to shift to smaller towns and villages: relatively untapped territory. And BSNL's tower infrastructure is already in place - a good way for others to save investments and time. It also owns ample spectrum.Thus, when BSNL was on the verge of signing an agreement with Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jiofor spectrum sharing, the other private telecom players including Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular demanded an equal opportunity for themselves. The situation was well captured by a senior official in the ministry of communications and IT who said BSNL is turning out to be an eligible bride who is getting many suitors, and the government is indeed elated seeing this state of affairs.BSNL will outsource the operations and management of its towers across India, as it prepares to form the second-largest tower firm in the industry. Indus Towers, a joint venture between Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular, is the largest player in the country with about 120,000 towers. The contract is expected to be valued at Rs 1,500-2,000 crore and expressions of interest will be invited within the next few weeks. The outsourcing will enable BSNL to reduce its expenses by 15-20 per cent.The next move  Analysts say it is a wise move. "The demerger of the tower business will help unlock value. The demerged entity can improve tower tenancies by making available the towers to all private sectors, says Deloitte Haskins & Sells Partner Hemant Joshi. "This will also lead to better usage of national assets." The capital and organisational structures of the new tower unit will be formulated by an inter-ministerial group.Currently, BSNL generates revenue of about Rs 200 crore from its tower business and expects it to go up to Rs 2,000 crore once the tower unit is formed. As of now, BSNL has leased out 4,500 towers to Reliance Jio and about 1,500 to Bharti Airtel. A senior officer from BSNL says conflict of interest has been the main problem in leasing out towers to private telecom operators so far, which will be erased once the new unit is in place.Meanwhile, BSNL wants to integrate WiFi with its mobile network to provide users a seamless experience of 3G and WiFi service. "BSNL has missed the voice journey. But we want to make sure we are the leaders in data services. The age of voice is over and data is the next big thing," says Shrivastava. "We are in a strategic position, be it mobile, landline or optic fibre network."At the moment, data and broadband is small for BSNL: it contributes 10 per cent of the company's revenue, though its share is on the rise. For the industry, data's contribution stands at around 13-16 per cent. But the market is tough. One thing is for sure: it won't be a cakewalk for BSNL

Cabinet approves hiving off BSNL towers into new company

The Union Cabinet today approved hiving off 65,000 towers of state-run telecoms firm BSNL into a new company. The move is expected to help the company realize the full valuation potential of the towers. While BSNL already does already share towers passively with other telecom companies, the government believes a specialized subsidiary will be able help operations. The company currently earns about Rs 200 crore from tower leasing but it expects to earn as much as Rs 2000 crore after carving out a new company. An inter-ministerial group will be created, using officials from the department of economic affairs, ministry of employee welfare and department of public enterprises, to take a collective decision on this subsidiary's valuation. Sources say the company could be valued at as much as Rs 20,000 crore. The Cabinet also sanctioned "financial assistance" of about Rs 627 crore for BSNL and MTNL in lieu of surrender of 800 Mhz telecom spectrum. Will towers fetch high value? Terming the decision as "better late than never", Micromax Chairman and former Airtel CEO Sanjay Kapoor said the subsidiary will help free up cash for BSNL. "BSNL has towers in some prestigious locations and also has towers in dark locations across India. So this may help other telecom companies [improve their reach]," he said. He added that the move would be good for customers as more towers in the market would help improve tower density, and thereby call quality, for the bandwidth-starved country

ABS Group ties up with BSNL for on-demand services

In a bid to expand its services in a highly competitive environment, the Atul Saraf led ABS Group has lined up a spree of developments. The company, which is all set to launch its MPEG 4 headend, is now strengthening its value added services (VAS) offering. ABS has entered into an agreement with telecom giant BSNL. As part of this, BSNL’s 10 million broadband subscribers can access the VAS and movies-on-demand services of ABS through its portal www.absplay.in.“We are working on setting up the servers in the BSNL premise for our value added services,” ABS CMD Atul B Saraf tells Indiantelevision.com.The portal will go live in August, 2015 after which BSNL broadband subscribers can access the library that contains more than 1000 movies, 60,000 songs and videos and approximately 70-80 web channels. “It is a subscription based model. There will be a revenue share between BSNL and us,” informs Saraf. The content will range from Bollywood, Hollywood, Tollywood, regional, sports, devotional, comedy, horror, action to music, short length videos and full length videos. While refraining to divulge the pricing of the content, Saraf says, “It will be in a very cost effective manner.”Close to 25 per cent of the catalogue has been purchased by ABS, while 75 per cent of the content will be on revenue sharing basis with content creators. “We have bought content from both national and international content providers. We will have a revenue share with them,” he informs.“We saw a gap in the VAS space and so tried to tap into it. This is part of our new revenue generating launches,” says Saraf.

யாருக்கும் இல்லாத ஒரு பெருமை பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோவுக்கு உண்டு. உலகின் மேற்குப் பாதியில் முதன்முதலாக ஒரு கம்யூனிஸ தேசத்தை உருவாக்கியவர் அவர்.1926 ஆகஸ்ட் 13 அன்று பிறந்தவர். இளம் வயதிலேயே தடாலடிச் செயல்களைச் செய்தவர்.படித்தது மதபோதகப் பள்ளிகளான ஜெசூட் கல்வி அமைப்புகளில்தான். படிப்பில் நிறைய நாட்டம் கொண்டவர். முக்கியமாக ஸ்பானிஷ் மொழியில் மிகுந்த தேர்ச்சி கொண்டவர். விவசாயம் மற்றும் வரலாறு ஆகிய பாடங்கள் என்றால் அவருக்கு மிகவும் விருப்பம். பாடங்கள் ஒருபுறமிருக்க பாடமல்லாத விஷயங்களிலும் மிகுந்த அக்கறை காட்டினார்.அரசியலில் மாளாத ஆர்வம். தவிர தடகளப் போட்டிகளிலும் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றவராக இருந்தார். ஆனால் இத்தனை இருந்தும் அவர் கூச்ச சுபாவம் கொண்டவராக இருந்தாராம். பிறருடன் எளிதில் பழகமாட்டார். ஆனால் இந்தக் கூச்சமெல்லாம் கல்லூரியில் சேரும் வரையில்தான்.1945-ல் கியூபாவின் தலைநகரில் இருந்த ஹவானா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் சட்டப் படிப்பை எடுத்துப் படித்தார். அந்த ஊர் சட்டக் கல்லூரியிலும் வன்முறை, அரசியல், கோஷ்டி மோதல் ஆகியவை நீக்கமற நிறைந்திருந்தன.பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோவும் ஓர் புரட்சி இயக்கத்தில் சேர்ந்தார். அதன் பெயர் The Union Insurreccional Revolucionaria என்பதாகும். இந்தக் காலகட்டத்தில் பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோ மீது சரியாகவோ தவறாகவோ சில குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் எழுந்தன. அவற்றில் முக்கியமானது எதிரணியைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு மாணவர் தலைவனை அவர் கொலை செய்தார் என்பது. பரவலாகப் பேசப்பட்டா லும் இந்தக் குற்றச்சாட்டு நிரூபிக்கப் படவில்லை.கல்லூரிப் பருவத்தில் பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோவின் அபாரமான பேச்சுத் திறமை வெளிப்பட்டது. கல்லூரியில் அவர் மாணவர் சங்கத் தலைவர் பதவியை வகிக்கவில்லை. அப்படிப்பட்ட ஆசை அவருக்கு இல்லை என்பதில்லை. சிலமுறை மாணவர் சங்கத் தேர்தலில் நின்றும் அவர் ஜெயிக்கவில்லை.என்றாலும் பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோவின் புகழ் பரவிக் கொண்டேவந்தது. அவரது அரசியல் ஆசையும் பெருகிக் கொண்டே வந்தது.ரஃபேல் ட்ரூஜில்லோ என்பவர் டொமினி கன் குடியரசை ஆண்டு வந்தார் (மேற் கிந்தியத் தீவுகளில் கியூபாவுக்கு அடுத்த பெரிய நாடு இது). இவரது அரசின் அடக்கு முறையை எதிர்த்து பிரபல எழுத்தாளர் ஜுவான் போஷ் என்பவர் உருவாக்கிய புரட்சிப் படையில் சேர்ந்து கொண்டார் பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோ.இதற்காக அவர் தற்காலிகமாக பல்கலைக்கழகப் படிப்பிலிருந்து விலகினார். (இப்போதெல்லாம் பணியிலிருந்து சிறிது காலம் விலகி மீண்டும் அதில் சேரும் sabbatical என்ற வசதி சில நிறுவனங்களில் இருப்பதுபோல் அப்போது ஹவானா பல்கலைக்கழகத்திலும் இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும்!)ஆனால் டொமினிகன் குடியரசை நோக்கி கப்பலில் இந்தப் புரட்சிக் குழு பயணம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தபோது திடீரென்று `இப்போது செயல்பாடு வேண்டாம்’ என்ற ஆணை வந்தது.அப்போது பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோ எதிர்பாராத ஒரு செயலைச் செய்தார். கடலில் குதித்தார். தன் தலைமீது துப்பாக்கியை சுமந்தபடி வெகுதூரம் கடந்து கரையை அடைந்தார். அந்தப் பகுதியில் சுறாமீன்கள் அதிகம் என்பதும் இந்தத் தகவல் பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோவுக்குத் தெரியும் என்பதையும் குறிப்பிட வேண்டும்.அதற்கு அடுத்த ஆண்டு பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோ பலவித செயல்களில் ஈடுபட்டார். அந்தச் செயல்களைப் புரட்சி என்று கூறி சிலிர்ப்பதோ, வன்முறை என்று கூறி வெறுப்பதோ அவரவர் பார்வையைப் பொறுத்தது.கொலம்பியாவில் லிபரல் கட்சித் தலைவர் ஜார்ஜ் கெய்டான் என்பவர் படுகொலை செய்யப்பட அந்த நாடே பற்றி கலவரங்களில் எரியத் தொடங்கியது. அந்தக் கலவரங்களில் முக்கிய பங்கெடுத்துக் கொண்டார் பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோ. தெருக்களில் வீடுவீடாகச் சென்று அமெரிக்காவுக்கு எதிரான அறிக்கைகளை விநியோகித்தார்.கொலம்பிய ஆட்சியாளர்கள் கியூபா மாணவர்கள் மீது கடும் நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுப்பதற்காக அவர்களைத் துரத்த, அவர்கள் கொலம்பியாவில் உள்ள கியூபா தூதரகத்தில் சரணடைந்தனர். பிறகு அங்கிருந்து ஹவானா வந்து சேர்ந்த பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோ தனது சட்டப் படிப்பைத் தொடர்ந்தார்!பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் பயின்றபோது கம்யூனிசத்தைப் பற்றி அதிகமாகத் தெரிந்துகொண்ட பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோ அதனால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டார். கூடவே அரசியலில் நேரடிப் பங்கேற்கும் ஆர்வமும் வந்தது.கியூபாவில் அப்போது ஆர்டொடாக்ஸோ கட்சி என்ற ஒன்று இருந்தது. நாட்டிற்கு பொருளாதார சுதந்திரம் தேவை என்றது அந்தக் கட்சி. சமூக நீதியை முன்வைத்தது. ஆட்சிக்கு வந்ததும் ஊழலை ஒழிப்பது தன் தலையாய பணி என்றது. பிடல் காஸ்ட்ரோ இந்தக் கட்சியின் சித்தாந்தங்களினால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டார்.

BSNL sign deal with BSCCL to buy internet bandwidth from Bangladesh

    Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) sign its first agreement outside India to buy bandwidth from Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) to provide internet services in the northeast. The agreement between the two companies is likely to be signed during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Dhaka that starts tomorrow, according to an official from the department of telecommunications. It is also exploring South Africa for expansion, and may pick up equity stakes in one of the country’s telecom service providers. Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company has agreed to sell its unused bandwidth to BSNL for $1.2 million a year. Initially, BSNL will buy 10 Gbps (Gigabits per second) capacity, which will be increased to 40 Gbps over time. The agreement between the two companies was signed during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Dhaka that starts tomorrow, according to an official from the department of telecommunications. In statement of intent on Bangladesh-India Education Cooperation (adoption) and an agreement between Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for leasing of international bandwidth for internet at Akhaura.

லாப வேட்டைக்கு ஊழியர்களை பழிவாங்கும் தனியார் நிறுவனங்கள் 

உலகம் முழுவதும் கிளைகள் கொண்ட ஹெச்.எஸ்.பி.சி. வங்கி நிர்வாகம், 25 ஆயிரம் பணியாளர்களை நீக்கி ஆட்குறைப்பு நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்ள முடிவு செய்துள்ளது. 

பிரிட்டனில் மட்டும் சுமார் 8 ஆயிரம் பேரை பணியில் இருந்து நீக்க முடிவெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஹெச்.எஸ்.பி.சி.வங்கியில் உலகம் முழுவதுமாக மொத்தம் 2,66,000 ஊழியர்கள் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்கள்.இங்கிலாந்தில் மட்டும் 47,500 ஊழியர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். ஊழியர்களை குறைக்க இருப்பதால் அதன் கிளைகளின் எண்ணிக்கையும் படிப்படியாகக் குறைய உள்ளது.பிரிட்டனில் இப்போது அவர்களுக்கு 1,050 கிளைகள் இருக்கின்றன. அதில் 20 கிளைகள் ஏற்கெனவே மூடப்பட்டு விட்டன. இன்னுமொரு 20 கிளைகளை அது மூட திட்டமிட்டிருக்கிறது.துருக்கி மற்றும் பிரேசிலில் தங்களது வர்த்தகத்தை விற்றுவிடவும் அவ்வங்கி முடிவு செய்துள்ளதாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

BSNL staff strike likely on April 21, 22

In support of their demands – most important being revival of loss-making Bharat Sanchar Nagam Limited, its employees have planned a two-day strike in April. Services will be affected as faults on lines cannot be attended and subscribers might not be able to pay their bills on those two days.Members of the Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations, Tamil Nadu Circle, alleged that the BSNL had suffered losses since 2009 owing to its pro-private sector policy. Association convenor S. Chellappa told presspersons here that the BSNL had incurred losses because of non-purchasing of equipment and cancellation of tenders. Although there was a demand from customers for more mobile connections, BSNL was unable to expand its operations because of lack of equipment.“We plan to go on strike on April 21 and 22 to insist on various demands, including merging Bharat Broadband Network Limited with BSNL and the latter’s expansion,” he said.Over 2.5 lakh BSNL workers will be taking part in the all-India strike, including 8,000 in Chennai.
